The original 18-hole course comprised of the "Red" and "White" nine-hole layouts, and was designed in 1945 by Ralph Plummer, opening for play in 1953. Riverside Golf Course was expanded to 27 holes when the "Blue" course was added in 1990s. The course currently plays as an 18-hole, 6,579-yard, par-72 arrangement that relives the original Plummer design of "Red" and "White".  The "Blue" course has more recently been converted to a 5-hole practice course, full length driving range, and short game practice area, providing ample practice opportunity.

The challenging layout requires an emphasis on proper tee shot placement, as several tree-lined fairways, water hazards, and strategically placed trees frame the fairways and greens. With four groups of tees available, there is an enjoyable setup and yardage combination for golfers of all ages and ability levels. Players frequently see deer and other local wildlife roaming the course, bringing golf in the Park to life.
